Orbetello administration rejects secession of Fonteblanda and Talamone

The administration of Orbetello has formally declared its opposition to the proposed secession of the districts of Fonteblanda and Talamone, which are seeking to join the municipality of Magliano in Toscana.

Mayor Andrea Casamenti and public works delegate Roberto Berardi addressed the referendum promoters, stating that the municipal government is ‘absolutely opposed’ to ceding these areas. Berardi defended the administration against claims of neglecting the districts in favor of the main town, citing various investments and ongoing projects.

Key initiatives mentioned include the redevelopment of the Costa del Cannone, involving coordination with the Tuscany Region and the Civil Engineering office, as well as the development of the Tyrrhenian cycle path. The administration emphasized its commitment to the territory, noting that even issues outside its direct jurisdiction have been addressed through mediation with other entities.
