Orbetello Piano Festival and Casola Valsenio Concert Showcase Italy's Summer Classical Season

The Orbetello Piano Festival continues its 15th edition in the natural setting of the Casale Giannella WWF oasis. On July 30, pianist Alessandro Vena performed a recital titled “Onde sospese, da Satie a Philip Glass,” spanning 20th‑century works. The programme is followed by the junior competition winner Daria Sannikova, a Ukrainian pianist, who will play “Il grande Romanticismo: Chopin e Liszt.” A dawn concert is scheduled for August 4 in the Patanella forest area.

In Emilia‑Romagna, the Abbey of Valsenio in Casola hosts the sixth edition of “Incantesimi Musicali, Arie e duetti dell’800 tra il Sacro e il Profano” on July 26. Pianist Antonio Amoroso, soprano Sandra Mongardi and mezzo‑soprano Patrizia Calzolari will present arias and duets by Verdi, Offenbach, Donizetti, Rossini, Bizet and Bach. Tickets are €5 and the event is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture and regional authorities.
