Orbius announces StarEDGE edge cloud solution for remote AI
Orbius Communications has launched a new edge cloud solution by integrating its StarEDGE platform with Armada’s modular data center infrastructure. This unified stack combines Multi-Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity with edge computing to enable artificial intelligence and real-time data processing in remote locations worldwide.
The solution is designed to allow enterprises and government agencies to deploy AI workloads outside of centralized cloud environments. By utilizing Orbius’s Private Network Interconnect (PNI), data is transmitted via secure Layer 2 paths to regional data centers rather than the public internet, ensuring data sovereignty and security from the satellite link to the edge workload.
Targeted at industries such as maritime, energy, mining, and telecommunications, the platform aims to provide high-speed connectivity and computing power in environments where traditional infrastructure is unavailable. The integration seeks to reduce deployment times for AI-enabled operational environments from years to weeks.
