Orbs launches first DAO governance vote with OIP-9 proposal
Orbs, a decentralized Layer‑3 blockchain infrastructure based in Tel Aviv, announced the launch of OIP‑9 – its first formal community governance vote aimed at establishing the Orbs DAO and a governance framework. The proposal, presented after more than seven years of protocol development and four years of on‑chain governance, would give token holders who stake in the Orbs Proof‑of‑Stake contract authority over network parameters, guardian certification, major protocol upgrades and new product modules. Voting will be conducted through Snapshot, with approved decisions executed via DAO‑controlled multisig wallets.
Ran Hammer, Vice President of Business Development at Orbs, said, “Decentralization works best when responsibility grows alongside the community’s ability to govern effectively.” The initiative is intended to create a progressive governance model that expands community responsibility over time while maintaining operational security.
