ORCA 2026 Ocean Radar Conference held in Vietnam
The 6th Asia-Pacific Ocean Radar Conference (ORCA 2026) was held at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Vietnam. The event was organized by the Vietnam Meeting of Scientists, ICISE, ULCO University (France), and the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The conference brought together nearly 50 professors, scientists, and researchers from nine countries and territories to exchange research results and promote international cooperation in ocean radar technology. Key discussion topics included signal transmission, radar signal reception, and data processing.
Ocean radar technology is considered vital for maritime monitoring, environmental surveillance, maritime support, search and rescue, oil spill detection, tsunami warnings, and assessing marine energy potential. This conference marks the first time the ORCA series, which began in 2012 and has previously been held in China and South Korea, has been hosted in Vietnam.
