Orcas Island Health Care District outlines long-term strategic vision

The Orcas Island Health Care District (OIHCD) has established a long-term strategic vision extending to 2050. Following a 2025 levy, leadership developed a plan to address community health needs through structured assessment and collaboration with Colibri Facilitation LLC.

Key priorities for the next three to five years and beyond include the expansion of primary care services, family care, women’s health, and OB care. The district also aims to expand mental health access and integrate substance use disorder prevention. To improve patient experience, the plan emphasizes coordinated care through a single point of contact to help navigate complex medical needs.
