Orchestra Baobab to perform at Edinburgh International Festival

Senegalese musical group Orchestra Baobab is scheduled to perform at The Hub on August 28 as part of the Edinburgh International Festival. The performance highlights a blend of Senegalese traditions and Cuban influences, featuring guitars, saxophones, and percussion.

The concert serves as a precursor to the release of their new album, ‘Made in Senegal’, which is set to debut on October 23. This marks the group's first studio release since 2017. The upcoming project is described as a tribute to their home country, incorporating the sensibilities of a new generation of musicians while maintaining the aesthetic established by the ensemble in the 1970s.
