Orchestra Content alleges copyright infringement by ‘Çirkin’ series

Orchestra Content, the production company behind the film ‘Bergen’, has announced legal action against the series ‘Çirkin’, produced by 25 Film for Star TV, alleging copyright infringement. The company claims that the second season teaser for ‘Çirkin’ contains scenes that are ‘one-to-one copies’ of the film’s iconic sequences.

According to the legal notice, the similarities include specific shot compositions, sound design, and atmosphere. Specifically, the sequence involving preparations at a makeup table, the ritual of putting on gloves, spraying perfume, close-up shots of the eyes, walking through a corridor, and the camera angle from behind the character looking toward the audience are cited as direct copies of the creative work developed for the ‘Bergen’ film.

Orchestra Content emphasized that these creative choices were the result of intellectual labor detailed in the film’s script and storyboard. The company stated that if the promotional materials are not halted, they will file criminal complaints with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and pursue compensation through civil courts.
