Orchestral performances scheduled in Brazil and Portugal

Several orchestral performances are scheduled to celebrate musical heritage and multidisciplinary arts. In Natal, Brazil, the Orquestra Sinfônica do Rio Grande do Norte (OSRN) will present the “Ritos e Mistérios” concert at the Teatro Alberto Maranhão. Part of the orchestra's 50th-anniversary celebrations, the performance features conductor Linus Lerner and Italian violinist Loreto Gismondi. The repertoire includes works by Mussorgsky, Sibelius, Mendelssohn, and Stravinsky, featuring pieces such as “The Firebird Suite” which are being performed by the OSRN for the first time.

In Arganil, Portugal, the Orquestra Sem Fronteiras will perform “O Tempo dos Rios” on October 3 to mark World Music Day. Led by composer Tiago Sousa, this multidisciplinary concert integrates music, silent film by Joana Patrão, and literary readings by Joana Bértolo. The event, held at Cerâmica Arganilense, explores themes of water and ecology through a minimalist aesthetic.
