Orchestre national du Capitole announces new season programming

The Orchestre national du Capitole has announced its upcoming season programming, featuring a cinematic concert of Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. Scheduled for September 24, 2026, at the Zénith Toulouse Métropole, the performance will feature the music of John Williams conducted by Ernst van Tiel, accompanied by a screening of the film in its original version with French subtitles.

Following the Star Wars event, the orchestra will return to the Halle aux Grains on October 1, 2026, under the direction of Musical Director Tarmo Peltokoski. The program includes works by Einojani Rautavaara, such as Cantus arcticus and Concerto for Birds and Orchestra, as well as Pētris Vasks’s Distant Light featuring violinist Daniel Lozakovich. The concert will conclude with Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite 1945.
