Ordizia to host Emaneurre Euskarari Eguna rural sports festival

The Emaneurre Euskarari Eguna festival is set to take place in Ordizia, marking the beginning of the Basque Festivals week. The event features a rural sports competition involving 24 teams, totaling 192 participants divided into groups of eight.

Scheduled activities include various traditional measurements such as stone lifting, weight tossing, and tug-of-war. Following the sports competitions, a large community lunch will be held in the main plaza, with organizers expecting approximately 500 attendees. Although the event faces the absence of Erramun Amundarain’s long-standing catering team, a new group has been formed to manage the meal.
