Ordu Mayor Mehmet Hilmi Güler Announces Natural Gas Coverage for All Districts

During the July ordinary meeting of the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Council, Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler outlined recent and upcoming projects across the province. He reported that natural gas distribution licenses have been expanded, bringing gas service to every district in Ordu, a notable achievement given the region’s rugged terrain.

Güler highlighted infrastructure improvements, including the reconstruction of the Bülbül Deresi bridge in Altınordu on higher ground to better withstand floods, and the launch of three tourism vessels—capacities of 350, 80 and 15 passengers—intended to serve all 19 districts. He also detailed agricultural support measures, such as providing mixed seed feed to livestock producers and offering machinery assistance during harvest, underscoring the claim that food security is as vital as roads and water.

The mayor emphasized the city’s “on‑site governance” model, noting that council meetings are being held in various districts to strengthen ties with residents. He affirmed that continued investment in road, bridge and utility projects aims to position Ordu as a model province within Turkey.
