Ordu Metropolitan Municipality launches accessible taxi service

The Ordu Metropolitan Municipality has implemented an 'Accessible Taxi' project to assist citizens with disabilities in overcoming transportation challenges. Led by Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler, the service aims to increase mobility and improve the quality of life for individuals with special needs by minimizing urban transit difficulties.

Users or their relatives can access the service by contacting the municipality to schedule appointments. Once a time is set, passengers are picked up from their homes and transported safely and comfortably to destinations such as hospitals or public institutions.

Beyond simple transportation, the service includes door-to-door support. Staff members accompany individuals during their appointments at various institutions to ensure their needs are met before providing return transportation to their homes. This initiative has been noted for reducing the logistical burden on the families of those with disabilities.
