Ordu reports 5,771 wanted individuals apprehended in eight-month safety report
Ordu Governor Muammer Erol announced the public safety statistics for the first eight months of the year, reporting that 5,771 wanted individuals were apprehended. This figure includes 1,792 people with existing prison sentences and 3,979 individuals processed for questioning.
Regarding crime trends, the Governor noted a decrease in several categories compared to the same period in 2025, including an 18% drop in child sexual abuse, a 3% decrease in deprivation of liberty, and a 2% decrease in violations of domestic privacy. Conversely, certain crimes saw increases: intentional homicide rose from 3 to 7 cases, sexual harassment increased from 60 to 72, and fraud rose by 10.4%.
Law enforcement operations resulted in the seizure of 522 weapons, including 197 pistols, 179 shotguns, 143 blank-firing pistols, and 3 long-barreled rifles. In terms of property crimes, auto theft decreased by 90% and looting by 28.2%, though overall property crimes saw a 6.9% increase.
