Ordu hosts international Tour of Ordu cycling races

The Tour of Ordu international cycling races, featuring the ‘Ordu Coast to Summit’ and ‘Ordu Black Sea Classic’ events, have commenced in Ordu, Turkey. Hosted by the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and coordinated by the Turkish Cycling Federation, the competition attracts professional athletes from numerous countries, including Italy, Japan, the USA, and South Africa.

The races utilize the region's diverse geography, moving from the Black Sea coastline through forests and waterfalls to high-altitude plateaus. The first stage of the competition saw athletes traveling from the Durugöl Kurtuluş Nature Park toward Mesudiye, specifically reaching the Keyfalan Plateau. During this 106-kilometer stage, riders navigated 24 tunnels and faced challenging climbs.

Kyrylo Tsarenko of the Solution Tech Nippo Rali Team won the first stage after a decisive attack in the final section of the race. Local officials, including Ordu Governor Muammer Erol and Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler, emphasized that the event serves as a strategic platform to promote Ordu’s tourism, natural beauty, and sporting potential to an international audience.
