Ordu's Environmental Road Second Stage Resumes Construction

Work on the 10.5‑km second stage of the Ordu Çevre Yolu has restarted after a period of delay. Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler secured renewed momentum through intensive lobbying and meetings with Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, thanking President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for support. The revived contract, handled by a consortium including Nurol, Özka, YDA and Yüksel, is advancing tunnel, viaduct, earth‑works and related structures.

The segment comprises a 3,200‑metre tunnel and an 1,800‑metre Melet viaduct, part of the overall 21.4‑km ring road. Officials say the completed stage will cut intra‑city travel time from 40‑45 minutes to roughly 10 minutes and will also continue work on the Ordu City Hospital interchange. Completion is targeted within about 20 months.
