Oregon head coach Dan Lanning credited an early-season loss to Oklahoma State as a ‘wake-up call’ that helped prepare his team for Big Ten play. Following a 41-27 victory over USC, the Ducks moved to No. 15 in the AP Top 25.

Lanning also dismissed the ‘juice box’ celebration used by USC, labeling it ‘fake energy’ during a practice video. The Ducks' win at the Coliseum ended USC's long home winning streak and provided a critical boost for Oregon after a sluggish start to the season, which included the aforementioned loss to the Cowboys.
