Oregon Coast Aquarium names new octopus after book character

The Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport has welcomed a new giant Pacific Octopus named Juicebox, after a character from the Dungeon Crawler Carl book series by Matt Dinniman. The name was chosen by aquarists to reflect the octopus's natural ability to change its appearance to blend in, mirroring the shapeshifting abilities of the character in the series.

Juicebox joins another octopus at the aquarium named Donut, after the character Princess Donut. The new octopus is expected to remain at the aquarium for approximately one year before being released back into the reef.
