Oregon Ducks baseball reaches Super Regionals as basketball eye breakout transfer
The Oregon Ducks baseball team finished the 2026 season with a 43-18 record, the most wins since head coach Mark Wasikowski took over in 2019, and advanced to the Super Regionals for the third time under his tenure. Freshman Angel Laya set a program record with 14 home runs and earned Freshman All‑American honors, while Naulivou Lauaki Jr. made headlines with a 496‑foot homer. Pitcher Will Sanford anchored the staff, but the Ducks fell short after back‑to‑back losses to Texas.
In men’s basketball, former Kentucky guard Jasper Johnson transferred to Oregon and is projected to be the Ducks’ breakout player for the 2026‑27 season. Ranked the nation’s No. 161 transfer and a former four‑star high‑school prospect, Johnson posted 4.9 points per game in limited minutes last season but demonstrated the potential to become a starter and primary scorer for Oregon.
