Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning praised as team poised for breakthrough
College Football Playoff analyst Ralph Russo says the Oregon Ducks are ready to move past their recent playoff defeats and contend for a national title. Under head coach Dan Lanning, the program has produced NFL talent and reached two consecutive playoff appearances, falling short both times. The Ducks are returning most of their starters for the 2026 season, notably quarterback Dante Moore, who opted to stay instead of entering the NFL draft, and defensive standouts such as Matayo Uiagalelei, Teitum Tuioti and Bear Alexander. Russo believes the combination of Lanning’s coaching and the experienced roster makes Oregon a strong contender for the championship this year.
