Oregon Ducks face injury challenges ahead of 2026 season
The Oregon Ducks are managing a mix of injuries and player returns as they prepare for the 2026 season opener against Boise State. Head coach Dan Lanning has provided updates on several key personnel following a challenging 2025 season.
Receiver Dillon Gresham remains a significant concern, having missed the entire 2025 season due to a neck injury. Lanning stated there is no clear indication or timetable regarding Gresham’s ability to contribute to the team in the future. Additionally, linebacker Brayden Platt is expected to be limited or unavailable for the season opener due to an undisclosed injury sustained during the spring.
On a positive note, the team is seeing the return of key players. Receiver Evan Stewart and Trey McNutt have returned to full health after recovery periods. Offensive lineman Dave Iuli is also progressing in his recovery from a triceps injury, and center Iapani Laloulu is expected to be part of the returning offensive line.
