Oklahoma State upsets No. 6 Oregon 39-31
Oklahoma State pulled off a major upset on Saturday, defeating No. 6 Oregon 39-31 in Stillwater. The victory ended a 21-game losing streak against FBS opponents for the Cowboys and marked the first win for head coach Eric Morris at the school.
Quarterback Drew Mestemaker led the Cowboys with 317 passing yards and two touchdowns, while adding 109 rushing yards and a score, including a decisive 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. The win comes after a difficult previous season for Oklahoma State, which finished 1-11.
Oregon, a preseason national title favorite, struggled offensively, with quarterback Dante Moore completing 14 of 29 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. The loss significantly impacts the Ducks' standing in the College Football Playoff race and ends their 41-game winning streak against unranked opponents. Following the game, Oklahoma State fans stormed the field and celebrated by placing a dismantled goalpost into a campus pond.
