Oregon Ducks schedule Sacramento State for 2028 season

The University of Oregon announced that its football program will host the Sacramento State Hornets at Autzen Stadium in Eugene on September 9, 2028. The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools and completes Oregon’s non‑conference slate for that year, which also includes North Dakota State and the in‑state rivalry with Oregon State.

Sacramento State, which joined the Mid‑American Conference as a football‑only member on July 1, 2026, will be playing its inaugural season at the Football Bowl Subdivision level. The addition fills a gap left by a previously cancelled home‑and‑home series with Oregon that was set to begin in 2027.
