Oregon Ducks strengthen secondary and freshman depth ahead of 2025 season

Cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., a four‑star recruit who spent three seasons at Ohio State, entered the transfer portal and committed to the Oregon Ducks. The 6‑1, 215‑pound defender, who recorded 41 tackles and three pass break‑ups last season, is expected to start immediately, bolstering Oregon’s man‑press coverage on the outside.

Meanwhile, Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class adds several impact freshmen. Cornerback Brandon Finney Jr., wide receiver Dakorien Moore, running backs Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr., and safety Trey McNutt are highlighted as players who could see significant playing time. The Ducks’ coaching staff, led by head coach Dan Lanning, continues to blend incoming talent with transfers to deepen the roster across the secondary, receiver corps, running backs and offensive line.
