Oregon soccer splits road trip with draw and shutout win

The University of Oregon women’s soccer team concluded a weekend road trip with a split performance, recording a draw against Santa Clara followed by a dominant victory over the University of San Francisco.

On August 20, Oregon played to a 1-1 draw against Santa Clara. After Santa Clara took an early lead via a penalty kick, Carly Cormack scored for the Ducks approximately 20 minutes later to equalize.

On August 23, the Ducks secured a 3-0 win against San Francisco at Negoesco Stadium. Sophomore midfielder Ellie Felt scored twice, converting a penalty kick in the 17th minute and a free kick in the 39th minute following a red card issued to the San Francisco goalkeeper. Chloe Chase added a third goal in the 64th minute to seal the win. The victory brings Oregon to a 3-0-1 record, marking their best start to a season in ten years.
