Oregon State Men's Soccer Ties UC Irvine 3-3 in Season Opener
The Oregon State men's soccer team opened their season with a 3-3 draw against the UC Irvine Anteaters. Despite playing with only ten men for more than half of the match following a Jacob Zapien ejection, the Beavers managed to equalize multiple times.
UC Irvine took an early lead in the fourth minute via a Gage Lyons penalty kick. Oregon State responded in the 22nd minute when Oliver Hernandez Parra scored following assists from Max Eisenberg and Michael Nesci. The Anteaters regained the lead in the 26th minute through a Christian Gallo header, but Gavin Wolff leveled the score early in the second half after connecting with a corner kick from Nesci.
After Isaac Powell gave UC Irvine a 3-2 lead, Max Eisenberg secured the comeback for Oregon State by curling a 30-yard free-kick into the top-left corner of the net. Goalkeeper John Nicolson recorded six saves to help maintain the tie.
