Oregon State prepares to host Montana amid calls for program culture shift

Oregon State University is set to host Montana at Reser Stadium on Saturday night at 8 p.m. PT. This matchup marks the first time the two teams have met since 1996. The Beavers currently hold a 12-2-2 series advantage, though Montana has won the two most recent meetings.

Following recent performances, Oregon State linebacker and captain Dylan Layne has called for a culture shift within the program. After a narrow loss to Texas Tech, Layne criticized the concept of “moral victories,” stating that competing closely with top-25 teams is not sufficient. He challenged fans to expect wins rather than offering sympathy applause after losses, emphasizing that the team's goal is to win the Pac-12.

Statistically, Oregon State players Braden Atkinson and Jesse Legree are leading the nation in passing and receiving yards, respectively, during the first two games of the season.
