Oregon wildfire officials schedule community meetings on fire updates
Fire officials in Oregon are holding public briefings to update residents on several active wildfires. A hybrid meeting for the Second Flat and Coleman Creek Fires will take place on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 6 p.m. PST at the Harney County Community Center in Burns, with a livestream on YouTube. The briefing is organized by California Interagency Incident Management Team 4 in partnership with the Oregon Department of Forestry, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of the Interior.
A second community meeting will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Elgin Community Center in Umatilla County. Officials will discuss the Paradise, Hagen and Horse Ridge fires, which together have burned tens of thousands of acres. Representatives from the Northwest Complex Incident Management Team 7, the Oregon State Fire Marshal Gray Team, the U.S. Forest Service, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and local law‑enforcement will present fire status, behavior, weather impacts and evacuation information. Residents may attend in person or view a livestream, and recordings will be posted online.
