Orestiada: Konstantinos Kavouridis ordained as deacon

On Sunday, September 6, Metropolitan Damaskinos of Didymoteicho, Orestiada, and Sufli presided over a religious service at the Holy Parish Church of the All-Glorious Archangels in Orestiada. During the service, held in memory of the miracle of the Archangel Michael in Chonae, Konstantinos Kavouridis from Asvestades was ordained as a deacon, following his ordination as a subdeacon prior to the Divine Liturgy.

During his address, the Metropolitan reflected on the Gospel reading of the 14th Sunday of Matthew, discussing the nature of Paradise and the Kingdom of Heaven. He described the Kingdom of Heaven as a living, eternal relationship of love with Christ, rather than a mere state or location. He emphasized that this relationship is built through the mysteries of the Church, particularly the Holy Eucharist.
