Iași hospital performs two successful kidney transplants

Two successful kidney transplants were performed at the ‘Dr. C. I. Parhon’ Clinical Hospital in Iași, following the death of Viorel Oarză, a 51-year-old former boxer. Despite the violent circumstances of his passing, his family consented to organ donation, providing a second chance at life for two critically ill patients.

The first recipient is a 41-year-old woman from Botoșani who had been undergoing dialysis three times a week since her renal function deteriorated during a pregnancy three years ago. The second recipient is a man from Vaslui who had been dependent on dialysis for over two years due to a severe, unknown renal condition. Both patients are reported to be in stable condition with favorable post-operative progress.
