Organ music performances scheduled in German cathedrals

Several organ music events are scheduled across Germany. In Magdeburg, the Catholic Diocese is hosting the ‘Herbst-Orgelpunkt’ concert series at St. Sebastian Cathedral from September 20 to November 22, 2026. Under the artistic direction of cathedral musician Matthias Mück, the series will feature works from various eras performed on the cathedral’s Eule organ. Admission to these concerts is free, with donations welcomed.

In Großbüllesheim, Polish organist Professor Dr. Michał Markuszewski is scheduled to perform at St. Michael on September 25. Markuszewski, who has performed at Notre-Dame de Paris and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, will play works by Bach, Rheinberger, Boëly, Bloch, and Elgar on the Seifert organ. The event will also include spiritual reflections by theologian Georg Schneider.
