The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) announced that it has awarded a total of $31,344 in grants to six peer‑education programs that will serve nearly 15,000 K‑8 students across the United States. Grants range from $500 to $10,000 and are part of OAR’s Spring 2026 Peer Education Grant Competition. Funding is supported by Jewelers for Children, which has contributed $645,000 to OAR since 2018.
OAR also introduced two new staff members. Cameron Gunter joins as a grants and programs associate, bringing experience as a former middle‑school English teacher and expertise in grant administration. Alex Michalchuk becomes a development associate, drawing on nonprofit fundraising work and a Master of Public Administration from American University.
