Organized crime conflict escalates across Europe involving Baybaşin and Daltonlar groups

A violent conflict between organized crime groups is escalating across Europe, involving the Baybaşin family and the Daltonlar gang. The dispute is reportedly linked to disputes over global drug trafficking profits and illegal betting networks.

Key incidents include the May 2024 killing of İlmettin Aytekin (known as Tekin Kartal) in Barcelona, Spain, following a meeting with Abdullah Baybaşin. This event is allegedly tied to the disappearance of a 600-kilogram cocaine shipment. On August 3, 2025, Caner Koçer, a high-ranking member of the Daltonlar group, was assassinated by masked gunmen at a cafe in Torrevieja, Spain.

Reports suggest that a social media post by Çağdaş Baybaşin, nephew of drug baron Hüseyin Baybaşin, acted as a provocation that solidified an alliance between various criminal factions, including the Daltonlar, Tolhildanlar, and Gündoğmuş gangs. This power struggle represents a clash between established criminal figures and a new generation of organized crime groups.
