Oria: Driver hospitalized after car veers off road and overturns

A single-vehicle accident occurred on Friday, October 9, 2026, along the SP58 provincial road connecting the outskirts of Oria to the Sanctuary of San Cosimo. A driver lost control of a Fiat Panda, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and roll onto its side in an adjacent field.

Emergency responders, including 118 medical personnel and firefighters from Francavilla Fontana, attended the scene. Local police from Oria also conducted investigations. Despite the impact and poor asphalt conditions caused by bad weather, the driver did not sustain life-threatening injuries. The individual was transported to the Perrino Hospital in Brindisi for treatment of abrasions and various blunt force traumas.
