Orient Express 6 wins Grand Cup at TAYK-Eker Olympos Regatta
The 14th TAYK-Eker Olympos Regatta concluded in the Istanbul Bosphorus with the Orient Express 6 - Atabay Challengers team winning the prestigious Grand Cup. The event, organized by the Turkey Open Sea Racing Club (TAYK), the Turkish Sailing Federation, and Eker Dairy Products, featured a fleet of 35 boats competing across various classes.
In the Yacht Class finals, the Orient Express 6 team secured the top position in the IRC0, IRC1, and IRC2 general classifications. Other notable winners included the Electron - Canias – CTD team, which led the IRC3 and IRC4 classes, and the BAU Club - Sail Go team, which took first place in the IRC GO class.
The competition took place along a 35-kilometer course stretching from Çırağan through Beykoz and past the Maiden's Tower to the Moda Sea Club, with sailors navigating challenging currents and wind conditions. This year's regatta also marked the first use of Vakaros RaceSense GPS technology in a Turkish yacht race to ensure fair competition through real-time detection of start violations.
