Oriente Antioqueño municipalities sign pact to prevent pyrotechnic injuries

Twenty-three municipalities in the Oriente Antioqueño region have signed an inter-municipal pact to reduce injuries caused by the misuse of gunpowder and pyrotechnics. The agreement, signed in Rionegro, aims to reach zero incidents related to fireworks through coordinated prevention, surveillance, and control efforts.

The initiative, coordinated by the Antioquia Departmental Government, focuses on protecting vulnerable populations, particularly children and adolescents, from risks such as burns, amputations, eye injuries, and fatalities. The pact involves local administrations, security forces, fire departments, and educational institutions to ensure regional cooperation rather than isolated local actions.
