Oriente Petrolero faces FIFA debt ruling and transfer ban
FIFA has ruled in favor of Dominican footballer César ‘Danco’ García, ordering the Bolivian club Oriente Petrolero to pay 97,493.12 USD, plus 5% annual interest starting in September 2025. Including a 20,000 USD fine payable to the international governing body, the total debt exceeds 117,000 USD.
In addition to the financial burden, Oriente Petrolero remains under a transfer ban. The club is prohibited from registering new players for the next three registration periods, a restriction that threatens squad planning for the 2027 season. To lift the ban, the club's management must prove full payment of outstanding obligations or reach formal settlement agreements with claimants.
