Orienteering 2026 initiative to engage students in Frosinone and Latina

The Orienteering 2026 – Mappe&Sport initiative will bring over one thousand students to explore the territories of Frosinone and Latina through competitive orienteering. The program consists of four scheduled events designed to combine physical activity with the promotion of local heritage and landscapes.

The competition schedule includes races in San Donato Val di Comino on October 22, Castro dei Volsci on October 29, Priverno on November 12, and Sermoneta on November 26. Participants will use maps to navigate through various towns and natural areas, aiming to complete the course in the shortest time possible.

Promoted by the Italian Orienteering Federation (FISO) and the Chamber of Commerce of Frosinone and Latina, with support from Informare, the initiative seeks to connect younger generations with their local communities. Giovanni Acampora, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Frosinone and Latina, noted that the project serves as a way to make youth ambassadors for their local heritage. Alfio Giomi, President of FISO, highlighted the opportunity to showcase the unique characteristics of the lower Lazio region.
