Origine and Trek unveil new endurance cycling models

The cycling industry continues to see diverse material approaches for endurance and gravel riding. The French brand Origine has released the Trail model, which utilizes high-quality 6061 aluminum alloy. The frame features triple-butted tubing with variable thickness to optimize the weight-to-rigidity ratio and undergoes two successive heat treatments (T4 and T6) for durability. To balance the aluminum construction, the bike includes a carbon fork to mitigate vibrations.

In contrast, Trek has unveiled the fifth generation of its Domane endurance model, focusing on carbon fiber advancements. The new Domane is lighter than its predecessor, with the SLR frame saving 305 grams through OCLV Carbon construction. While Trek has removed the IsoSpeed system, the design maintains comfort through intelligent carbon shaping, larger tire clearance, and a new seatpost designed to flex vertically to absorb road irregularities.
