Orihuela announces new headquarters for Local Police

During an institutional ceremony celebrating the feast day of the Virgin of Monserrate, Orihuela’s Citizen Security Councillor Mónica Pastor announced the creation of a new headquarters for the Orihuela Local Police.

Pastor described the project as a response to long-standing demands from the force and a key objective for the future. The initiative aims to provide officers with the necessary equipment and working conditions to ensure a modern, professional, and accessible service for the municipality.

Police Chief Rubén Selma Hernández emphasized the importance of the force’s values, including honesty, respect, and empathy, while noting the complexities of policing a diverse area that includes historic centers, coastal communities, and agricultural zones. The event was attended by Mayor Pepe Vegara and various regional and provincial officials.
