Orihuela Cathedral restores historical bells

The historical bells of the Orihuela Cathedral have been returned to the cathedral tower following a specialized restoration process. The five bells, which have been part of the city's soundscape for centuries, were previously moved to the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art for conservation and public viewing.

During their exhibition at the museum between December 2025 and April 2026, more than 30,000 visitors had the opportunity to view the pieces up close. The restoration work was carried out by the Murcian company Tradición en Relojes y Campanas.

The project is now entering its final phase. Over the coming weeks, technical work will continue to ensure the correct installation and functionality of the bells. Once these works are completed, the bells will resume their traditional ringing, restoring a vital element of the city's historical and cultural identity.
