Orihuela celebrates 250th anniversary of Monserrate Sanctuary

The city of Orihuela has announced a program of festivities to honor Nuestra Señora de Monserrate, the city's patron saint, taking place from September 5 to 20. This year's celebrations are particularly significant as they mark the 250th anniversary of the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Monserrate.

The program includes a mix of traditional activities and religious services organized by the Archicofradía. Key religious events include pilgrimages on September 6 and September 20, a solemn procession on September 8, and a special veneration of the patron saint on September 19. The festivities will also feature cultural, tourist, musical, and children's activities.
