Orihuela declares official mourning for Leandro Roldán Soriano

The City Council of Orihuela has declared official mourning following the death of Leandro Roldán Soriano, who served as the Síndico Portador of the Gloriosa Enseña del Oriol in 2009. As a mark of respect, municipal flags will fly at half-mast from 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, until 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 4.

Roldán Soriano was deeply involved in the local traditions of Orihuela. He was the founder of the Moros Negros Egipcios comparsa, served on the Central Committee of the Moros y Cristianos festivals, and held the title of Moro Ambassador in 1992. He was also recognized as a Festero de Honor and was active in various Holy Week brotherhoods and confraternities. The City Council expressed its condolences to his family and friends, noting his significant contributions to the city's social and traditional life.
