Orihuela expands school bullying prevention program to 1,200 students

The Orihuela City Council is expanding its school bullying and peer violence prevention program, ‘La Buena Mochila’, for the 2026/2027 academic year. The initiative will reach 1,200 students across 20 educational centers, quadrupling its previous scope.

Targeting students in the 3rd and 4th years of Primary Education, the program will run from October through March 2027. It will consist of 48 groups participating in 144 sessions led by municipal professionals. The expansion covers the urban center, outlying districts, and the coast.

Local officials Agustina Rodríguez and Vicente Pina stated that the program aims to provide minors with tools to identify, prevent, and respond to bullying and cyberbullying. The initiative also focuses on fostering values such as respect, empathy, and positive coexistence.
