Orihuela reopens Arneva Promenade after structural repairs

The Arneva Promenade in Orihuela has fully reopened following structural repairs and improvements. The Orihuela City Council addressed damage caused by a collapse last May and previous flooding from 2019.

Infrastructure works involved replacing a damaged covering system with hollow-core concrete slabs to improve strength and durability while reducing structural load. The project also included surface repairs and the planting of 12 mulberry trees to better suit the local environment. The repairs were deemed essential to protect nearby residents and ensure the drainage channel, which collects water from the Sierra de Hurchillo, remains functional during torrential rainfall.
