Orihuela to fine property owners up to 1,500 euros for uncleaned plots
The Orihuela City Council has announced that it will begin issuing fines to property owners who have failed to clean and maintain their plots of land. This follows the expiration of a grace period that concluded on August 15.
Mayor Pepe Vegara stated that the municipality is finalizing an inspection device that is expected to be operational within approximately one week. The Local Police will assist in identifying uncleaned or unsanitary plots during their routine patrols.
Failure to comply with cleaning and clearing requirements is classified as a serious infraction. Consequently, owners may face sanctions ranging from 750 to 1,500 euros. The enforcement measure will cover the entire municipality, including the urban center, historical district, coastal areas, and various outlying districts.
