ORION announces retro-style 15.6kg large-scale boombox

Doshisha has announced the ORION SCR-B10, a large-scale Bluetooth-enabled CD double stereo radio cassette player designed to evoke the aesthetic of 1980s boomboxes. As part of the ‘Our Youth Boombox’ series, the device features a substantial build, measuring approximately 75cm in width and weighing 15.6kg.

Technical specifications include an eight-speaker configuration and a 60W total amplifier output. The unit supports various media, including CDs, dual cassette tapes, USB memory (MP3), AM/FM radio, and Bluetooth. It also allows for recording from various sources onto cassette tapes or MP3 files on USB drives.

Additional features include dual microphone inputs with echo and volume controls for karaoke, independent woofer level adjustments, and LED level meters. The device can be powered via AC outlet or ten D-cell batteries. The product is scheduled to launch via the crowdfunding platform GREEN FUNDING on November 4, with physical displays planned at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA and Futako Tamagawa Tsutaya Electrics in Tokyo.
