Orion Pictures sets summer 2027 release for thriller ‘The Hole’

Orion Pictures, a specialty film label of Amazon MGM Studios, has scheduled the theatrical release of the thriller ‘The Hole’ for June 25, 2027. Directed by Kim Jee-woon, the film is an adaptation of Hye-young Pyun’s 2016 best-selling Korean novel.

The story follows Owen (played by Theo James), an American professor residing in South Korea. Following the death of his wife in a car accident, Owen is cared for by his Korean mother-in-law, who begins to uncover secrets regarding his past and his marriage. The narrative spans locations in Seoul and Berkeley, California.

The cast includes Theo James, Hoyeon, Yeom Hye-ran, and Christian Slater. The production involves Anthology Studios, K. Period Media, and Esmail Corp, with financing and executive production provided by Department M and Medan.
