Oristano Approves €610,000 Urban Greenway Revitalization
The Oristano municipal council, led by Mayor Massimiliano Sanna, approved a €610,000 execution plan to refurbish the tree‑lined streets of Via Cagliari and Via Diaz. The project, proposed by Environment Assessor Maria Bonaria Zedda, will add new trees, shaded walkways, rain‑water‑permeable paving and upgraded lighting, aiming to improve air quality, mitigate heat‑island effects and create safer, more inviting public spaces. Work will also extend to the courtyard of the Leonardo Alagon primary school, providing a new garden area for outdoor learning and recreation. Officials highlighted the initiative as part of Oristano’s broader strategy to build a resilient, climate‑friendly urban network.
