Oristano launches

The Municipality of Oristano has announced the first edition of the "Tradizioni di paese" national literary contest. Organized in memory of Riccardo Ortu, the initiative aims to promote creative writing and local cultural identity.

The competition is open to unpublished works in Italian and is divided into two categories: poetry (maximum 50 verses) and short stories (up to 18,000 characters). Participants are categorized into three groups: under 21, over 21, and school groups consisting of at least five members. Submissions must be received by December 1, 2026. The jury will award plaques, certificates, and local artifacts, with a special prize dedicated to texts focused on Oristano traditions. Finalists will be included in an official anthology, with an awards ceremony scheduled for June 2027.
